Grand Priory of the Maltese Islands to actively participate in this
national event held on the 1st October to ensure a night-long programme
of activities in the 18th century Church of Our Lady of Pillar which
has been made available to the Grand Priory for its activities by
Heritage Malta. The Grand Priory enthusiastically took up the offer
since the activity would serve to promote the Order and its activities
among the general public. The programme organised by
the Grand Priory included
[1] A
visual exhibition about the history and activities of the Order and the
Grand Priory in the form of video presentations and an exhibition;
[2] A
concert delivered by the choir Voice Studio led by consoeur Marie
Therese Vassallo and accompanied by bagpipe music played by confrere
Joseph Abela Medici.
[3] The
leper-support subsidiary branch of the Grand Priory—the order of
Charity—also had its own exhibit in an effort to collect donations to
further its cause.
The
efforts of the Grand Priory’s members were well received by the general
public who visited this magnificent church and the activities organised
in it during that night. Media exposure included dedicated video shots
in two of the local news stations. Truly a memorable night for those
