ISBN: 10-99932-0-460-9** This limited publication details the history of the Order of Saint Lazarus of from its early origins in the during the Medieval Period up to the present day. This 244-page extensively illustrated book is subdivided into seven chapters. The first three chapters deal with the history of the Order in the Holy Land and the various European perceptories throughout the Medieval and Early Modern Periods; the third chapter details the twentieth century development of the Order. The fourth chapter outlines the history of the Order in Southern Italy, a branch that split off from the main Order to give rise to the Order of Maurice and Lazarus; it also looks at the history of leprosy and the Order in the Maltese Islands. The fifth and sixth chapter relates to the heraldic instruments of the Order and the various grandmasters. The final chapter deals with the history of the various patron saints of the Order.
